It’s a time for giving — both because of the season, and because of of the dire need of those affected by Haiyan/Yolanda — and there are not many better gifts than books, especially for a child, and most especially when the proceeds of the sale all go to UNICEF, which is active in relief efforts. The Philippine Board on Books for Young People (PBBY), Kuwentista ng mga Tsikiting (KUTING), Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang INK), and Adarna House are holding a kidlit books, art, and collectibles sale + storytelling sessions on Saturday. Fernandez corner Sct. Torillo, Brgy. Sacred Heart, Quezon City for the following activities:* Sale: Rummage through and purchase books, artwork, collectibles, and other previously-loved items. Or drop-off your previously-loved items to sell and donate.* Meet & Greet Sessions: Grab the opportunity to chat with your favorite authors and illustrators. Get your books signed and your photos taken with them.* Storytelling Sessions: Listen to beloved children stories read aloud by storytellers, authors, illustrators, publishers, and theater actors.
